AVID Elective — New is designed for middle and high school educators serving as new AVID Elective teachers and new AVID Coordinators who teach the AVID Elective class and may also coordinate the AVID College and Career Readiness System at their school site.
This learning experience will focus on AVID implementation; Writing, Inquiry, Collaboration, Organization, and Reading (WICOR®) strategies; tutorials; student agency; and opportunity knowledge using updated AVID resources.
Participants will engage in both synchronous and semi-synchronous learning. All strategies, digital activities, and digital tools experienced can be leveraged in face-to-face or virtual learning environments.
Prerequisite: This learning experience is for new contracted AVID Elective member sites for the upcoming school year.
